Creative book storage #2

The second installment of creative book storage includes the images I found with built-in shelving. As I said in the last post, I'd love to create some built-ins in our sunroom. Someday, someday.  You can check out the entire post here.

I used to want this exact coffee table, but I decided a glass coffee table might not be a great idea.

This is pretty cool, eh?

I like the way this shelving unit divides the living room from the dining room and works into the wooden beams.  And here are several other good book storage ideas from Apartment Therapy.

  1. I love books, but they really do require some serious storage solutions or they just look dull and cumbersome. I've always wanted to arrange our books by color but the mister doesn't like that plan. Perhaps I'll change them one day while he's at work just to see if he notices! Haha! =)

  2. Those book shelves in the ceiling are so cool!!! I feel like people would love to look at them while lying on the couch, but they would probably be hard to reach :)

  3. I love the built in shelves above the couch! Although I think those may be hard to reach. I always wanted really tall shelves and a sliding library ladder. However there is no room for those kind of shelves in our new house, so I will probably have to settle for buying some instead!

  4. I need to do this! I have no place for my books, and literature. I need a nice space that adds to my apartment and makes it half as pretty as these pictures. Thanks for posting, x love always

    hope to hear from you*

  5. I love books and pretty shelves are always a plus on decoration. I like the ones in pictures 1, 2 and 4.

  6. It's true. They'd be hard to reach without a ladder. Oh, how I would love to have a library and ladder in my house. Maybe when I strike it rich playing the lotto or something (even though I never play the lotto).

  8. Have you ever seen that inspiration photo floating around with the bookcases behind the couch, all the books organized by color and the globes on the top shelf? I saw it in a magazine first and it was my original inspiration for having a globe collection. I know, pathetic. But that bookcase above the window would work perfectly for that collection!
